Montgomery Zoo Review!

If you live in Montgomery and have never visited the zoo, you've missed one of the coolest, cheapest, and most captivating experiences in the River City.

The Zoo contains some of the most varied wildlife for a zoo its size and artfully displays the animals in open-range habitats that rival larger zoos. Just one look across the African Savannah and you'll see huge lions, lanky giraffes (including a young female born only about a year ago), playful zebras, and the new stars of the zoo, four African elephants! The view can only be described as breathtaking.

One of the all-time favorites for zoo regulars is the bird-house. It's set up as a large aviary through which zoo visitors may walk and enjoy the bright red of the scarlet ibis and kindly dispositions of several ducks, turtles, and other amazing avian.

We all know how hot it is this time of year, but if you need to cool off, there are several opportunities including the reptile house where you can walk through a human-friendly air conditioned building while looking at numerous larger snakes and lizards and the zoo train! The train ride circles the zoo and allows visitors to see most of the habitats while enjoying the breeze and the respite from walking. It only costs $2 to ride and is well worth the price considering the ride takes at least 20 minutes.

When you go, make sure to check out all of the habitats including North American, South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia! And don't forget the newest addition of warm weather penguins in the African habitat.

Check out the zoo and have a great time!
